Hello, very intersting webside, special Your pics about Your Track. My son and I started in January with a digital scalextric. Some houses now are made by printed paper. Your pics give me another ideas.

BRILLIANT! Far out and whacky.  The wind tunnel is just the best. Why do F1 teams spend zillions of squids when they could build a wind tunnel like this? (Answer is in the Reynolds number. In short, it won't tell you a great deal, but an interesting idea nonetheless).

VERY fun, super site! Keep up the good work... would like to share my 'WRC'/Pro Rally multi road condition 'H.0.' scale set up... both track and 'H.O.' cars with suspension ideas in the near future. Thank you again sir! Keep it comin'! Bravo!

I am very impressed with your layout looks interesting - I'm in the middle of a big re-build of my 4 lane circuit. I can recommend Dave Lelievre's slotmaster system. I got it quite a few years ago and it's still going strong.

Problem my soN built a very elaberet 1/32 scaleelectric race track in his very damp garage. Well they spend more time trying to clean it then they do racing. Well grandpa with a slot racing backround dating to the fiftys said "we need to build a track cleaning truck" mistake !! Any suggestions, you have some very inventive stuff, mouse, stapler, cell phone etc. I do have a backround in scratch building, mostly 1/24. Unit must be self powered. Join the fun thanks.

This site is absolutely weird but funny! LMAO!

I've got some old polistil track if anyone is interested - 23 straights, 6 banked curves, 10 standard curves. I'm on the lookout for old F1 style cars, (Brabhams, Coopers, Auto Union etc)but they don't have to be manufactured years ago!

Fiona Chamberlain, chamberlain_fiona@hotmail.com, UK
Have been given a Polistil Electric racing slot car kit 30300. I have just found out that the company has been out of business for a number of years. The set must have originated in Europe as the transfomer has a foreign two pin plug. Do you know whether it's possible to get a UK transformer (listed in the instruction booklet as part no 32308)? Also the transformer is 5V which doesn't seem to give quite enough power to have both cars running properly. Can these set run at 9 or 12 V? The 2 cars have seen better days and would certainly benefit from a new set of copper braid contacts, even better would be to get 2 new cars? One car is certainly much slower than the other and the cause of frequent arguments with my kids!! If you have a list of spares/accessories, along with prices for these, or could put me on contact with someone who could help I would be very grateful.

I loved your web site and I'm really interested in building my own Dyna-Mo Test Block. Could you teach me how to do that? Thank you very much.

Well, when I was young my father gave me 2 sets af Stabo. Now that my son is allmost 6, I tried to give him somthing he would have for the rest of his life. Years ago I wondered what happend with my Stabo. Just 2 days ago I discovered on the seller of my father's home 2 boxes with slot tracks. There was it! 40 meters of single stabo tracks. Unfortunately, no sign of cars, transformer etc...So the first ting I did today was look on the web. Amazing, I even saw pics of my old cars! Finaly I got your site. Amazing. I'm pleased that there are people who use their free creative time in such a great manner. Cool. Coold you give me a hint for which current slot brand to use? I know that ninco cars will do but the Stabo slot, that means the distance of the metal tracks are a litle bit larger.

Great site. Enjoyed slot cars as a kid, obsessed as a 30-something! I race 1/24th flexi-cars with the Wellington Slot Car Club and 1/32nd (Scalextric) with an informal group of like-minded blokes on home layouts. The latter is becoming the more enjoyable (the marshalls don't get yelled at and the realism/detail is far more satisfying).

Hi, as I´m reaching at the point when I feel a little bit dispaired, caused by my almost endless searching for Polistil-parts, I wanna ask you if you may help me. Are there any (online-)shops, are there any possibilties to buy current-collector and magnets for my Polistil-cars or may I use parts of an other manufacturer? Please help, thanx.

Noel Parkes, Ireland, Limerick City, noel_parkes@hotmail.com
Slot car racing appeared on Sky Television recently where three "amateurs" had a race. It looked very interesting and that is why I tried to check if others, such as yourself were actively involved in this "sport" for want of a better word. From the photo's I can see you are very involved with this stuff. Well done

Manny Nunes, Oporto, Portugal, MSPTornado@netcabo.pt
I'm desperately searching for a "Polistil" dealer but I've realized that they are no
longer in existence. You are one of 10300 search results and by far the best as far as slot
cars are concerned. I think this is a pretty cool site for the enthusiast, keep it up. Also being in
english it makes it universally acceptable. I'm the owner of a Polistil slot car track that
I bought in my teens (I'm 32 now) and today I pulled the all lot out of a wine box - yep
that's where my grandma kept it while I was living in South Africa for the last 17 years -
It's an "A501" (8 shaped)with the cars being the "Wolf WR1" and the "Ferrari 312 T4" both
Jody Sheckter's. While I could I started buying "tracks" on a mission to be able to build a
replica of the F1 tracks like in "racing book" provided but the pocket money was scarce and
I never went further then a "A26 - lap counter", 4x "A24 - 75mm straights" and one "A239 -
flexible rail". The whole lot is in fair shape and I would greatly appreciate if someone
out there could advise me on whether it will be viable to try and fulfill my childhood
dream and how since it seems to me that "Polistil" has vanished. Thank you and keep up the
good work.

Glad to see so many others of my age (42)are still into stot cars. I thought I was just obsessed. I bought a Scalelectrix Silverstone track about 14 years ago. I'm not as interested in the F1s butreally love the lines of 50's and 60's american cars. So I've been converting Revell, Monogram, Airfix & Gunze Sangyo kits ever since, using scalelectrix spares and a soldering Iron. So far I've built - Ford '57, 2 Chev Impalas '55 '59,Chevelle'80,Chev Belair Nomad '55, Ford Thunderbird '63 and Nascar '91, E type Jaguar,VW '64,Aston Martin DB5 & Cadilac Eldorado '59. As you can see, I like long cars and of course they 'fishtale' really well.'American Grafitti' really made an impression on me when I was about 13. My tools are pretty simple - Soldering Iron (mainly for melting), Swiss Army Knife, Nail file, Electric Drill with grinding stones, Supa Glu, Masking Tape, BluTac, Car Bog, Automotive Car paints and primers. My biggest problem is the shortage of 1:32 scale kits in Australia. Shops don't seem to stock them anymore.I drove around Western Europe resently, and visited toyshops wherever I saw them. No luck! So I'm off to search the web for more infomation on their availability. Keep up the good work.

Nice site. I love the home-built cars - the can, mouse (x2) etc - can you convert anything to make a slot car??? - just imagine at a slot car club... & the winner is um... a mouse. Second price goes to booboo the cat following it! lol. If you get a minute check out my website: http://www.andyrowland.co.uk

Cool Site, I can totally relate to your passion for 1/32 slot cars. Keep it up

I really enjoyed your site and especially the movies, a bit short though, but real fun. I owned around 600 cars and still collecting. My favourites are LANCIAS have you got the last MONTE CARLO from FLY?

I've spent many years without my scalelectric set and was re-introduced several weeks ago. I am now locating sites to re-establish that interest. Can you provide any Canadian sites or sales outlets that would carry scalelectric. I live in the Victoria BC area.

Antonio Y., Brasil, antonioy@bol.com.br
Very good home page.

John Salter, On Lake Erie, south of Hamilton, Ont, jsalter@adamclark.com
Enjoyed your site, excellent graphics and some neat gadgets. I'm also back into slot cars at age 44. Had a Scalextric set back in the early 70's and about four months ago got the urge to buy a set again. Things have really changed! I have built a 95foot SCX/Scalextric 2 lane layout on a 20'x 8' table in my basement (had to get the track up off the floor, it was driving our three cats crazy) and I'm at the landscaping phase of the project at the moment. Eventually I want to organize some local racers for home in home series or casual racing.

Chan Wai To, Hong Kong,
I love automobile and try to find out some information about the catherham super 7 on the web and there is a link to your web site. Then I click into it and the cars are very very nice. I also want to find one package of the slot car in Hong Kong but most of them are not good in quality. Very good in the car gallery and you show your modification on the cars. The modification is very professional in quality.

Your Page is very interesting. Especially the funny Mouse Projects. I own two cats too, and they sometimes run after my Slotcars. Now I think about building a Mouse-Car too. Spending time on your Website is NOT wasting time!!! Greetings, Slotracer. http://www.slotcar.sites.cc

I was searching for slot-racing info and came across your site.. About your Ferrari 312 T2: I had (and still have) exactly the same model in the late seventies. It was my favourite car! My car, like yours, is a Polistil made in Italy. Polistil was a well known Italian slot-racing brand in the seventies and early eighties in The Netherlands (I don't know in Germany). Cheaper than Carrera (or Fleischmann) but the Formula one bodies were more accurate. I got my model in 1978 so it will be a replica of the 1977 model driven by Niki Lauda (No.11). Reutemann drove the No.11 in the beginning of 1978. Gilles Villeneuve always had No.12. I hope this answers a few of your questions. PS. Like you I'm an 'older' (36) slot-racing fan who re-discovered his favourite toy; nice to see that I'm not the only one.

Nice home built Slotcars - had great fun looking at your ideas! As a more "serious" slotracer it's been refreshing to see such a sense of humor.

Great site. I added a link to your site on my (Dutch) slotracing site.

Very nice slot car track and great pictures of all of your cars. For your laptimer, you might want to consider trying photocells. If you would like more information on how I built my track timer, I would be more than happy to help you out. My total investment (including a used laptop on e-bay) was about $50. If you already have an old computer handy, this is a very inexpensive solution. E-mail me if you are interested in more information. Happy racing! My website address is http://home.san.rr.com/jkdavison/ I have updated my page to include some tips on building a timing gantry and am beginning work on the electronics. I hope to get the site updated soon. It is a rather easy project and you can get most of the information from Bryan Brown of Yarker Memorial Raceway. If you email him, he will give you a link with instructions on how to build the electronics using photocells. Here is the address in case I didn't give it to you in your guest book. http://members.kingston.net/ebyarker/bspts.htm

Excellent Sites!!! Waldy, Your Polistil Ferrari 312T2 set me thinking. In the early 80's my dad bought us a Polistil slot set. It was as you mentioned made in Italy. It had two cars, one was a black and gold John Player Special Lotus, the other a Red and silver Ferrari 312T2, exactly as the one you have. I have the Ferrari in my posession, minus the undercariage and motor. One thing though is that both cars had decals with the drivers name on them. I can not remmeber who the driver of the Lotus was, but the Ferrari driver was Jody Scheckter (from South Africa), who won the 1979 F1 World championship for Ferrari. As you know by now these cars are fully compatible with Scalextric tracks. One other thing, one of the major Toy store chains in South Africa is once again selling Polistil sets, although I am not to fond of the detailing of the cars, they look cheap. Well hope that gives you some more info on that Ferrari. My brother still has the full track set, although the original box is long gone, and the original transformer has also overheated. We also still have the Lotus and the motors and undercariages for both cars, altgough the motors are tired.

Dave Lelievre, UK
I was just surfing around and came upon you page. Since you are interested in F1 and slotcars you may be interested in looking at my race management package. It is based around F1 and is the only one to support fuel usage and pit stops. It will also allow you to obtain a graph of performance of each driver in a similar fashion to F1. Check out www.slotmaster.com

I have your page listed on my links page. I have to comment as I absolutely laughed out loud when I saw the Mouse and Mouse 2 projects. Very creative and humorous! How'd the Mouse 2 come out anyway?

Trevor May, Essex, England maytl@bp.com
Nice page very enjoyable, and I like the cat too! I have been collecting for many years (and racing for more!) I have around 500 cars, mainly Scalextric and 60's American cars. I too have Formula Junior cars, but not a Lotus in the same colour, is it painted? I have found that many of my tyres have gone hard and now replace them with silicone ones, it makes quite a difference. Well I'd better surf on . Thanks again.

Dale Matson, Northeast Missouri matson@nemonet.com
I realy like all of your pictures! It is great to know at 38 years old I am not the only one interested in 1\32 slot cars. As a kid growing up, it was one of my fovorite toys. I had an eldon set as a kid, wish I still had it. I liked your magnet idea on your cars, I think I will try it on my cars. Keep up the good work!

Bob Newsome, Barcelona, Spain
Just browsing around. Very nice page. I really liked the bits on lap timers and counters, but I reckon my knowledge of electronics isn't up to it at the moment.
